THE NEW YORK JETS STADIUM, Manhattan, New York City, New York

Biggest proposed multi-purpose facility in the heart of midtown

The project site was proposed by the New York Jets for the New York City 2012 Olympic Bid and was located on the far west side of midtown Manhattan. As a project team member, Philip was charged with designing a complex program to incorporate a 365,000 square feet exhibition hall expansion to the Jacob K. Javits Center. The multi-purpose sports center was to have accommodated convention and exhibitions, simultaneous events such as New York Jets home games, Basketball and Hockey and other public functions. With the revamped Penn Station, the proposed extension of subway and train lines and new ferries across the Hudson River, no other site in North America would have offered comparable transit capacity.
